Mouth Cancer Screening
Mouth cancer is a malignant growth which can occur in any part of the mouth, including the tongue, lips and throat. Mouth cancers are commonly aggressive and invasive by nature and have a higher proportion of deaths per number of cases diagnosed than many other common cancers with a mortality rate of just over 50% and account for 1,700 deaths per year in the UK. You should visit your dentist immediately if you notice any abnormal problems or are not sure as early detection and referral to a specialist treatment clinic is vital.
We carry out a thorough assessment of the soft tissues in and around your mouth as an integral part of every dental examination in order to ensure that any abnormalities are detected and treated as early as possible.
